Investigations of deceased persons
- Legal inspections at the scene of discovery or crime to investigate unusual deaths (e.g. accidents, suicides, homicides, deaths in custody, suspected medical negligence), including the collection of any evidence in collaboration with the forensic science department
- Forensic autopsies with further investigations (toxicological, histopathological, clinical chemistry, immunological/allergological, etc.)
- Determination of the time of death
- Identification of unidentified deceased persons
- Investigation of SIDS and SUDS cases, including genetic testing
- Technical support during large-scale operations, in particular DVI operations
