Forensic hair analyses are conducted as requested by judicial authorities for the determination of long-term consumption behavior or abstinence.

Private cases can only be accepted under exceptional circumstances following clarification with the laboratory center head by telephone.

Hair sample security is safeguarded by the use of kits, instruction manuals and order forms as made available by the Center for Forensic Hair Analytics.

The following substances or substance groups can be analyzed in hair:

• Drugs of abuse (excluding cannabis)
• GHB
• Alcohol markers (ethyl glucuronide, EtG)
• Medication (benzodiazepine, z-hypnotics, opiates, others on request)
